2013 Ford Explorer toad?

We are looking at a 4X4 Ford Explorer to buy for a toad. Does anyone pull one, can they be pulled 4 down? Thanks

I have a 2012; pulls just fine. I use a Brake Buddy and a Toad Charge.

I have a 2012 that I have been towing about 15,000 miles with no issues. Just follow the instruction in your hand bookl

We have a 2013 Explorer that we tow 4 down. Ours is not the 4x4. Have around 3,000 tow miles with no issues.

just make sure it is the V6 model. The 4cyl has a different transmission that cannot be towed 4 down.

Yes if you don't get the 4x4, you have to get the V6 to tow 4 down.

Not sure that I follow here but any V6 4x4 or 4x2 can be 4 down towed. The 2.0L ecoboost 4x2 and 4x4 if it is offered cannot be 4 down at all. The only way to tow the 2.0L version is on a tow dolly if it is 4x2 and on a trailer if it is 4x4.

Meant you cannot tow 4x2 2.0 ecoboost 4 down.

Ok. I did double check and I do not see any 4x4 option for the 4x4 models. However if there is an earlier year that does have the 2.0L ecoboost and 4x4 it also cannot be towed 4 down.
