2013 Jeep Wrangler Wired to Tow

Just wired my new 2013 Jeep Wrangler to be able to tow behind Damon Daybreak motor home. I connected a ground wire to the battery. Everything seems to be working; however, when I start the Jeep the ABS light and Anti Skid light now comes on. Thinking I might need to have the computer reset, any ideas?

Why not just ground it to the chassis? The shorter the wires the better. I would take off the ground wire and see if all is well first.

fsnyder98,
Just wondering, you say you wired it for towing. May I ask, just exactly "how" did you wire it and set things up? I'm asking because I've wired (7) different Jeep wranglers for towing and all have worked just fine. But, all of those were older than yours. I'm lead to believe that the newer Jeep units are using a different wiring harness and what's called a "CAN BUSS" system. If so, wiring it in traditional ways can and will cause problems.

You see, I've not one of those that have a heart attack when tying into the factory wiring. I've ALWAYS used my stock tail lights in the Jeeps as toad lights and NEVER drilled any extra holes and added sockets and bulbs. But, as stated, utilizing that style of wiring in the later toads with CAN BUSS systems is not possible.

So, just wondering how you did your wiring and why you thought you'd need to go direct to the battery with the ground. I'm assuming you're talking about the ground from the pig tail, coming from the coach, correct? Just trying to help figure things out there with you.

^^^ + 1, need more info on make of cable, how its wired etc.

On my 2013 Rubicon, I used the mopar cable and I love it because there are no plugs to mount. The plug is behind the grill and the connector has a lock on it. Chrysler did a great job with this harness cause it is bundled with a few isolation relays to separate the jeep power from the motor home power. So when you plug the cable in, the jeeps lights mimics exactly the mh lights since it uses only its signal with no feedback from/to the jeep.
