Bikinjim - this is great information and helps a lot. Ours is a 6 cyl Latitude, without the front vent louver. I'm considering changing my set-up to the same as yours with the exception of the light kit. For the kit I'm now thinking of the Demco 9523118 as mentioned above. Does anyone know if the Demco kit requires a brake lite relay kit also like the Brakemaster kit does. I called Demco and asked them but they just took my number and said someone would call me.

I have the Demco harness on my 2015 Cherokee. If you do not want the brake lights overriding the turn signals, you will have to install a brake relay. I have not done this (yet). The Cherokee is a fairly small SUV and with it sitting behind the Bay Star, the coahes lights are plainly visible. I also don't like messing with (cutting) factory wires. That was the major reason I went with the Demco harness. Although I can handle the normal butt splice, and even solder if needed, I just don't like messing with the brake lights. Also the fact that my days of contorting myself under the dash are pretty much over. Seems like when I was younger, there was allot more room under there, than there is now .

Bill, I agree 100% with every statement you made, to include the room under the dash. As Bikinjim mentioned the hardest part for him was the brake relay due to this issue. I did get a return call from Demco and surprisingly the tech guy said they never had this question asked before about a relay needed with the Cherokee 9523118 harness. He said what I described with the OEM brake line overriding the RV brake line and cancelling the turn signals made sense and that he would get with the engineer and call me back. My guess is the engineer knows of this and it's new news to this tech guy.
Thanks for the input and I'll post the results when I'm finished in a few weeks.

I'm starting to put all the part together and have a few more questions I'm hoping can be answered....
I have a Roadmaster Sterling towbar and I'd like to use the Ready Brake braking system, does the cable go thrugh the hole on the locking plate? (The plate that the large not attaches to when the tow bar is folded up and over out of the way). I'm concerned about the aircraft brake cable rubbing on the nut that lock into the locking plate. Also when using a Ready Brake how long is the safety cables? Laying out the parts is appears I will need 72 inch safety cables due to the added length of the Ready Brake.
It appears there are two different Roadmaster base plates for the Cherokee Latitude the -4 and -5, the -5 does not have the cross bar and that is what I'd like to use. What are you folks useing on your Cherokees?

Ours is a 2014 Limited and when the shop installed it, they went with KIT# 521447-5 version.
We are using a RoadMaster All Terrain Tow Bar and it works great.
They had to fashion a mounting plate for the light socket and breakaway.
Hope this helps.
