Moderators - help please.

This is one of 4 threads that are essentially the same "conversation".

Can you shut 3 of them down, and point them to one that is active, and if necessary change the title to be something like "2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee Towing / including intermittent wobble issues".

Thanks

The other 3:

Severe intermittent shaking when towing 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Does anyone have experience towing a 2015 Jeep Cherokee

2014-16 Jeep Cherokee

This is a little disheartening since we bought this vehicle specifically to flat tow! Glad I haven't sold my other tow vehicle yet (99 Cherokee getting a little tired...) This is on our 2014 Trailhawk.
They "have to say that". We have towed ours over 1K miles without any problems. Think of how many vehicles were sold and towed, compared to how many people had problems.

BUT, you must do what ever makes you comfortable.
SIDE NOTE - the email I got from Jeep support stated the jumper and switch would be available for PURCHASE.

I will still get one....hope it does not casue additional battery problems by having the PS powered up while towing.

Regards,

Dan

As a follow up to my last note above, I have posted this on the other 3 threads. So to get everyone on the same page, I'll add that note here too.....

There are 4 threads that cover essentially the exact same info on towing 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees, including recent info on the soon to be available fix from Jeep on the reported issue with "wobble".

To simplify this topic please refer to all threads before you post something new, it will make it better for everyone.

I have posted this on the others as well.

Regards

Since my last posting I have received two calls from my service manager and spoken to Jeep customer support twice. Service manager says he hasn't seen any update yet, but would keep checking. As of today Jeep customer care says no parts available and could I please "keep checking over the next few days and then call back?"

However, Jeep is towing well over all types of roads. Hopefully it stays that way, but will still invest in parts when available.

I now have driven our 2015 Jeep Cherokee with Active Drive II for nearly 5k miles under its own power and 8K miles towed behind our motorhome. So far all is good.

When part is available I'll get it.

Still love the Jeep.

Called Jeep Customer Care on 3/1. After lots of hemming and hawing, they told me that the new jumper would be available Late February 2016. They didn't see the humor when I said "gee March 1 is late February". The part is not yet available, and they told me not to tow it in the mean time.

I had the wiring harness and disconnect switch installed yesterday March 3rd.
Very clean installation. for those folks that have not had the problem, congratulations. While reading threads on other forums, the wobble has happened intermitainly or quite frequently, I had the issue once in 8000
miles.

Can you provide any details as to just what is installed, and what the procedures for use are?

I have read on another forum that a switch is installed somewhere in or around the center console, but there is a 10 amp fuse supplied with the kit that has to be pulled in some situations.

Any photos you might be able to provide would be great.

Darn, they should have put that switch somewhere else so it can be seen bettef, AND use a switch with a indicator light.

My guess is that it will sometimes get left on.

I wish I knew where they made the connection to the PS motor.

I guess that's why you have to pull the fuse. Switch on fuse pulled, no power to the steering motor. Seems like two disconnects to insure the motor is disconnected. Guess FCA had to insure no power to motor.
