2014 Jeep Wrangler Towing

After unlocking the differentials in a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, do you leave the Jeep in Neutral, Drive, or Park while towing?

Thank you

Park, but don't put in park while engine is running. The owners manual has the sequence to use. Follow that and you'll be ok.

You do not need to leave the keys in the ignition or leave the ignition in ACC mode. Older model Jeeps needed to do this to unlock the steering, but "modern" Jeeps no longer need this.

Once the diff is in neutral, put the tranny in drive to see if the jeep moves (it should not)... once satisfied, put it in park.

It is not the diff that is being put into neutral, it is the transfer case.

I've been towing a JK since 2008 and even though I have the process memorized, I treat it like a pre-flight check. Complacence causes accidents, so just open your owner's manual each time and follow the steps. It'll cost you say most another 60 seconds but it could save you a bunch of money.
