2016 Canyon transmission question

New Canyon owner and my 1st tow and I needed the information posted here for the reset of the 4x4 transfer case. A HUGE THANK YOU to those posters!
My issue is with the disconnect instructions in the owners manual. Page 328 and 329. There are two points I am confused with. 1) it does not tell you when to start the truck and 2) it says to put into PARK. Putting the tranny in PARK seems weird as it was already in PARK. During the connect portion of the instructions. The dealers has been less than helpful-- anyone here who can assist? Thanks

Colorado/Canyon
Have you read this? There are several posts in there on procedures for setting the Canyon up for tow including mine for setting up the Colorado for tow. I have never had an issue using my procedure. However others have had issues. Good luck.

GMC Canyon

Yes I have read the thread many times and thanks to the various posters I did not need to get a tow when the truck would not engage the tranny. Unless I missed something, the thread did not address the disconnecting issue as outlined in the owners manual. I called GM customer support and they acknowledged the issue and made a suggestion about the omission. Proof to be seen the next time we move
