2017 Ford Edge V6 AWD - first pull

Finally got to hook up the new Edge Titanium and head south for the winter.
As due most newer Fords the battery ground MUST be disconnected. I installed a disconnect switch as I did in my Focus and run my RVI2 brakes from my Jump and Carry 660. Roadmaster Sterling tow bar and base plate. Hopkins light kit for LEDs works fine ( not the same kit as reg lights).

Ford requires a 5 minute run at start and finish every day. I level first and then run the car. Now it remains locked overnight. In the morning, I do the car first as now it is in "N" when I come off my jacks. The only thing I had trouble with was holding it down to 65 MPH. While it weighs more than my Focus, it tows very well and the extra space will be enjoyed. The clock comes back on in standard time, don't loose any settings.

With mine 2011 edge, I just hook it up and go nothing to disconnected. I have the RVi charge system, works great.

I installed a 12- 16 in battery jumper cable from the battery grd to a rotary battery disconnect switch used for marine/RV cutoff. Put stock cable to other side of switch.
This is the same way I did my '13 Focus as I learned about on here and have many miles on the setup. Velcro to top of battery to hold in place.

What works for others may be fine, yet not work for you. This is why I stress use YOUR owners manual.

looking to maybe change toads. Question: how high off the ground is the tow bar attachment on your Edge? We currently have a 2014 Focus and must use a 10” receiver drop adaptor which causes some “taildrag” occasionly. Not desperate to change but looking if we can find a high enough mounting Assy.

I just went out and measured and mine at the base plate is 17" and the tow bar pins are at 19 1/2" on a RoadMaster setup. I leave my cross bar on just pull the pins, keeps people from hitting the front of my car. Mine is the sport with low profile 22" tires plus I use a High-Low 6" 10,000lb drop hitch and a BalckHawk 10,000lb tow bar.

If the toad battery is disconnected how do the auxiliary brakes activate in case the toad becomes separated from the RV?

My RVI2 brake system is powered from a 'Jump and Carry 660'. I can go at least two days without recharging.

I use the 6” hi low with my 2016 Bounder.
