2019 F150 Auxiliary Power Turns Off Automatically

I bought a 19 F150 with push button start and it's to smart.

We are going to tow it behind the MH. I bought a Patriot II braking system that needs auxiliary power. All of this works fine but Ford has decided that the 2 cigarette lighter style plugs need to turn off after 30 minutes to save the battery.

I have looked and haven't found any way to tell the truck to leave them on.

I think I'll have to run a separate power supply directly from the battery but before I do that;

Does anyone know how to tell the truck to leave the lighters powered?

I have no end of trouble getting any computer to do what I want , let alone try to change a programmed feature.

Anyhow , my toad requires battery disconnect to keep the odometer from racking up miles . I wired the aux brake system direct to the battery , then found that over the course of an 6 hour driving day the battery went dead , so now I need a charge wire from the coach .

My 2011 F350 had four pre-wired, pre-fused backlit switches on the dash. Probably meant for accessories like a snowplow blade and spotlights, but if you have them that would be a great spot to pick up juice and save having to run from the battery. Hmm, I never used mine so I don't know if they get shut off after a time either come to think of it. Oh well, a line from the battery shouldn't be too hard.

Hey Skip, I have gone through a long struggle with losing battery charge. I 'might' have it solved now that I disabled the steering lock on my Wrangler. On top of my Invisibrake consumption, parasitic losses with the key in place were substantial. I lost ground even with a battery disconnect AND a charge line! We recently did a couple of 5 hour days and battery amps were good. We're leaving on the 25th and will have several longer days of pulling so I'll know for sure pretty soon.

The Invisibrake should charge the battery.

We have a 2018 F-150 that does the same. I wired an aux plug direct to the battery. Fused it for 15 amps. I just coil it up under the drivers seat when not in use. We have towed up to 8 hours a day with no problems draining the battery. I am using the RVi2 brake system. Ford folks here said no way to reprogram the computer to leave on.

That would be like a farmer trying to lift a hay bale while standing on it.....
