Thanks for the update. To some, tying into the factory wiring is like killing their first born. But, in all reality, it's pretty darn simple. Care must be taken to perform good, clean, solid work and, always double, triple and quadruple check that you're working with the correct circuits and grounds etc. I have done that same style of wiring for decades, with 11 different toads, (some with the tail light converter and most without) and, never, NEVER had any issues with factory tail lights as toad lights what so ever.
