Scott.....UPS just delivered the converter, in your diagram, today. I've been busy getting stuff to convert this CRV. Pulled my hitch off the motor home and had a second receiver welded on this morning. The base plates arrived while I was gone, along with the converter and a new battery box that let's me convert the CRV motorcycle sized battery to a group 24. I should be all done by tomorrow.
Thanks for the update. To some, tying into the factory wiring is like killing their first born. But, in all reality, it's pretty darn simple. Care must be taken to perform good, clean, solid work and, always double, triple and quadruple check that you're working with the correct circuits and grounds etc. I have done that same style of wiring for decades, with 11 different toads, (some with the tail light converter and most without) and, never, NEVER had any issues with factory tail lights as toad lights what so ever.
