I need a 8" drop hitch for my new tow car. I'm finding the pricing is all over.
Drawtite about $30.00
Roadmaster about $65.00
Blueox about $140.00

So whats makes the Blueox worth $ 75.00 more then the Roadmaster and $110.00 more then the Drawtite?

All three are for a Class III, 2" receiver

Thanks, Greg

You need to check the tow weight specifications on each one. Some are tow weight rated at 5000 lbs and I believe the Blue Ox is rated at 10,000 lbs.

you are right, the blueox is rated 10,000 lb. and the rest are 5000 lb., so I guess its OK the use the $30.00 Drawtite for my needs.

I bought mine from etrailer.com. I opted for the 6,000 rated Roadmaster.

You really have to be careful with Blue Ox. Some of their prices make no sense. We needed a four inch drop, which the Blue Ox dealer happily put on. When we got home, I noticed a similar hitch in Wal Mart (Reese) with more tongue weight capacity, same tow capacity for one quarter the price.

I went to a certified welding shop and got the exact dimensions custom done. Less money and exactly the length I needed.

Amazon sells the 10,000# drop hitch draw bars for under $30 with free shipping.

I bought mine on eBay for $25 and free shipping. Brand new. Doesn't hurt to check.
