I had mine replaced yesterday on my '02 in about 2 hours. I'm the second owner with no record on file with Jeep.com so I printed the recall notice after inputting my VIN.

We have the 2004 Liberty and have not received any info on the recall. What website did you use for the VIN? The website in the 1st post no longer works.

You may be asked for the recall letter by VIN by the servicing dealer which can only be had either by direct mail to the registered owner or from Jeep.com.

The letter won't come out until the end of the month according to the website on recalls. Get in early because they are recalling over 800,000 vehicles. I believe that it actually 2001 for the start year. My husband and I each own a Liberty. We tow mine. There is also a wiring recall I saw on the website. This one can start a fire!
