American car dolly or Stehl???
I'm looking to buy a new car dolly. American car dolly is $1395.00, comes with electric brakes, deluxe straps, delivery and warranty. Local Stehl dealer is $1299.00, comes with disc surge brakes 14" radial tires, powder coat frame, LED lights, safety chains and adjustable straps. Which is the better made dolly? Thanks in advance for any advice. Greatly appreciated!

Are you sure the Stehl comes with disc brakes. The info I read says brake drums? Disc may be an option.

if you buy either one, check the tow in or out wheel alignment before you pay for it.
my new stehl had 3/4'' tow in when i bought it new.
i did not know about it for over a year as i did not use it. it wore out 2 sets of tires in 1000 miles. 
stehl would not talk to me or the 2 frame shops that i took it to to be repaired.

Stehl tow dolly
Just additional information on the Stehl tow dolly. I bought a 2015 with electric brakes. The brakes had been installed wrong at the factory requiring my installer to take everything apart and rotate the brakes 180 degrees to enable them to work properly. Also after the first 100 miles the wiring on the left hand lights chaffed through from too much slack being left in the wire and the tire rubbed on it. The right hand wheel brake buddy cover also wore through in less then 500 miles because the cotter pin holding the axle lock nut wasn't bent over correctly from the factory. This caused the dust cap to be cut from the inside by the cotter pin end destroying the dust cap. Hard to find a quick replacement to avoid getting dust in the wheel bearing.

Several years ago my new Stehl dolly came with about 5/8" tow in. The manufacturer would not talk to me or the truck alignment shops. After 2 sets of tires in less than 2k miles, a truck frame shop finally fixed it.
If you are going to buy a Stehl dolly check the alignment before you pay for it.
My Stehl experience is documented in the archives of this forum.

1300 for a stehl with surge disk brakes is well below normal price.

I have the stehl dolly without brakes. Only issue in 3 years and 10 thousand miles has been that both fenders have cracked. Sent pictures to them and their responce was that considering the state of american highways it would be considered normal. Offered to sell me new fenders at no discount. Will remove and weld them.

If you can afford it, I would go with the Demco Kar Kaddy ss. For me, i absolutely love it. Their customer service is incredible. My first run out, I called them and they walked me through everything over the phone.

Does any one own a American Car Dolly ?? How is it working out for you ??
I got one coming next week, looks to be well made. I like the idea of removable ramps, they wont damage the bottom of my Toyota Avalon.

I have owned an American dolly for about 10 years, the only things I have had to replace were the light assemblies. (I broke them on my pick-up after market steps) it does need the Delrin pads replaced as they are cracked and chunking off.... All in all it has been a great piece of equipment, very satisfied...
