As a side note, we traded in a very low mileage 2012 Mercedes GLK 350 4Matic since it could not be towed 4 down, so we were not sure how we would like the Jeep in general, and I would say we actually like the Jeep more than the GLK.

American made in general terms. Wasn't trying to be so technical. I guess my options are broader now?

I think the bottom line has to do with reciprocal agreements. If all of the vehicles were made strictly in the US trade agreements with other countries would be such that they would be only sold in the US. Other countries would start their own industries.

By sharing the workloads units made in the USA are sold in other countries while some of the compents or assembly is done in other countries for sale in the US.

We tow a Honda Element (no longer made), but I'm not sure where they were made.

Chevy HHR. Hook it up, pull a fuse, turn ignition key to first position and go. We have been pulling one of these for about 7 years now. Ours is a 5 speed.
