Any experiences good or bad with Ready Brake
Im thinking of going with Ready Brake and would like to know pros and cons. Will be flat towing an 02 Dodge Durango 4x4.

I'm curious what happens if the toad gets disconnected from the coach.
How do the brakes get applied then?

Been using RB for 4 years...
'99 Ranger and '16 Canyon
Easy, simple and clean operation
The only negative issue I have had is the cable broke at the toad brake pedal side where it feeds through the firewall conduit
Easy repair, new cable. However, one step further...
I found a nylon tube I was able to file down to fit into the metal conduit acting as a sleeve to eliminate chaffing of the cable.
Also I'm taking a tip from Fireup and using a small pulley wheel (screen door roller) that can connect and disconnect to the brake pedal shaft. Allows for disconnect when your not towing eliminating the constant movement of the cable through the metal conduit
I suggest using the optional activation lights, both on the RB and the toad brake pedal so you'll know when each mechanism is being activated.
On your rv dash install a light for the RB activation and another for your toad brake activation.
The RB has leads for the RB activation. On the toad you'll have to tap into the brake pedal switch or make a bracket and add a switch. Roadmaster has a pre-made universal bracket for adding a toad brake light switch
The lights allow for assuring your cable is adjusted properly, otherwise you won't know when you toad brakes are activated, even when you adjust the cable at the recommended tension
Again, Fireup had a great idea using a turnbuckle on the cable for fine tuning.

I have been using Ready Brake for approx 5 years with no problems. Very easy to hook up simple operation.

Love the ReadyBrake! We have the Readybrute Elite towbar and brake combo, been using it for 6 years now, towed our Subaru almost 30,000 miles.
Simple, mechanical setup, no electronics to fail. Hook up, turn the key to first stop, stick in neutral, emergency brake off and go!

We have been using the NSA Ready Brute Elite, Emergency Break Away System, and Dash Mounted Brake Indicator Light for 2 1/2 years--30,000 miles. There has been no issues, easy to hook-up, and works as advertised.

My wife and I installed the Ready Brake system in our Jeep JK along with the emergency breakaway. Tow bar works great, has a lifetime guarantee. The Jeep tows great, tracks right behind the MH and you really don't even know it's there. Very happy with our setup and recommend the company.

Another happy Readybrute/ReadyBrake fan - 15k miles - going into 3rd season.

Going on 5 years and 38,000 miles, towing Wrangler, and now Grand Cherokee.
Full ready brake system including breakaway setup
System works great, including downhill runs which everyone seems to be concerned with.
Why complicate life with electrical and air systems ?
