Any full size 4 door trucks towable that have curb weight under 5K

My hitch is only rated to 5k. Anyone towing a full size truck crew cab 4x4 4 down with a curb weight <5k?

Not quite full size but I just set up our 05 Dakota 4 door 4x4 with a Blue Ox system. Weighs a little under 5000 lbs.

Thanks Kuzzy. I looked at the 2016 Canyon the other day. It seemed small (I have a Tundra so all mid size seem small) and the backseat did not have much legroom. I was hoping a full size truck might work if I could find one of the lighter models but I need a 4 door.

Unless the truck is really stripped down, it will be hard to find any that is full-sized, a crew cab and a 4X4 that is under 5000 lb. The 2002 half-ton, extended cab, 4X4 Chevy we used to have was around 5400 or 5600 lb. if I remember correctly.

Also be careful that if you do find a truck with a curb weight of 5000 lb., the actual weight will be a good bit more than that when fluids, options and personal belongings are added.

A full size 4 dr. Chev will weight at least 6000 lbs. Our extended cab is 6200 lbs. but that is with a cap. Other than the hitch you are pushing the power limit of an ISB.

The 2015 Ford F-150 is made with an all aluminum body shaving off a lot of weight. You may want to look into the curb wt for this truck. Good Luck on your search.

Our Wrangler unlimited is 4500 lbs. Can't imagine a 4X4 crew cab full sized pickup not weighing much more.

Is that for the 4 door model? When I look at FMCA towables they give the curb weights but don't specify configuration, so I'm guessing their picking the lightest in the lineup of certain make and models such as regular cab trucks.

I was a little concerned about the weight and my ISB but I'm towing a Jeep Liberty now and it weighs about 4k. We don't travel fully loaded and weigh about 26k loaded (4 corner weight checked). You think moving up from a toad from 4k to 5k would make much difference? Specs give us a GCWR of 37.9K.

I pull a 2015 chevy crew cab 4x4 Z71 behind my Entegra and it weighs 5129 lbs. It pulls great but there is a procedure that MUST be followed to put the transfer case in and out of neutral. I use the "air force one" braking system which is easy to use.

Thanks Dave..Would love to be able to safely and legally pull your truck. It's almost tempting. Well if I could just borrow yours and not have to buy one I will go on record and say I would risk it .
