any mini van being towed

I have seen a few Honda Odyssey vans being towed, but am told they are not listed as towable in the manual.

I have a Chrysler Town and Country that I occasionally flat tow but it is equipped with a Remco trans pump and an auxiliary light set. You need to press a hidden switch that allows you to put the trans in neutral without starting the engine, plug in the BrakeBuddy and away you go.

Until it is hot outside (80 degrees plus) and you drive for two hours. At that point, even with the Remco, the trans fluid heats up and you start to get warning bells going off until you slow down and let the fluid cool.

After a year of that hell, I bought a Jeep and now flat tow that with NO issues.

Are you asking if there is any minivan that can be towed, or about the Odyssey in particular?

The Odyssey was never actually approved by Honda for flat tow, but they did not object to it. Then later they began to actively disavow it, refusing warranty coverage on the driveline if it was towed. Some people continued to do it, mostly successfully.

Most other brands of minivan needed a transmission lube pump for towing.

I towed a Dodge Caravan for several years. It had a Remco transmission pump installed.

I never had any problems with it.
