I have a Chrysler Town and Country that I occasionally flat tow but it is equipped with a Remco trans pump and an auxiliary light set. You need to press a hidden switch that allows you to put the trans in neutral without starting the engine, plug in the BrakeBuddy and away you go.
Until it is hot outside (80 degrees plus) and you drive for two hours. At that point, even with the Remco, the trans fluid heats up and you start to get warning bells going off until you slow down and let the fluid cool.
After a year of that hell, I bought a Jeep and now flat tow that with NO issues.
