Anybody have a 2016 Cherokee or Trailhawk toad?

I am curious on what was done for the 2016 Cherokees & Trailhawks to prevent the Death Wobble when towing.

This DOES NOT apply to GRAND Cherokees

The TSB for 2014 & 2015 models is to install a special wiring kit to keep the power steering supplied with 12V. But this in fact drains the toads battery unless a charge line is also installed.

I wonder if the 2016 models (built after Feb. 2016) have this same switch, or if the solution is different.

Regards,

Dan

I have a 2014 Cherokee and have not experienced this issue while towing (over 5000 miles). You can find tons of information on the FMCA forum regarding this. Apparently, if you believe what you read, FCA is going to notify owners that they need to install a wiring harness that provides power assist to the steering while the 2014 & 2015 vehicles are towed. Allegedly they are going to limit towing to three hours and you will probably need to install a charging cable for the battery. I read somewhere that the 2016's will have some sort of disclaimer regarding towing without this harness but I have not seen a new owner's manual. Nor have I received any update to my owner's manual or notification of any kind from FCA. One of the service writers at my local dealership was vaguely familiar with this but told me that the "fix" was mentioned in a TSB (no recall) only for people who were actually experiencing the problem. That is a strange response. Seems like a safety issue to me. Like I said...as of this date I have not heard from Fiat/Chrysler and am not sure about the 2016's.
