Anyone tow a Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I bought the tow vehilcel and now I need an RV to tow it. I know a little backwards but my wife needed a new car . It's a summit edition so it's a little heaveier I think.

What's the minimum house power do I need .I 'm thinking 400 to 450. DP. Do I need a tag? What do othesr whohave a Jeep GC tow have? I plan to spend time in the rockie mountains.

Thanks.

I think so, From what I understood all of the GC Summit editions 4 x 4 could be towed 4 flat.

I tow a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland w/4x4 behind a Country Coach w/325hp Cummins. On the WK2 JGCs you MUST have the Quadra-Trac II drivetrain that has the terrain select knob on the center console with the N select option to be able to flat tow. The 4wd "awd" versions without that selector can not be flat-towed per the owners manual.

I used everything recommended from Roadmaster, including the Brakemaster proportional system. So far, tows great.

I have a 2014 Summit and flat tow it with my Discovery powered by a Commins 8.3, 380hp. Your Summit should weigh right at 5,000 lbs. Check the driver-side door jam for the actual weight. Jeep tows like it's not even there. A 400 to 450 hp diesel base MORE than enough power to easily tow your Summit.

I have a 2015 Summit. Blue Ox has the correct baseplate. It's different than a regular GC because of the "mustache" where the tow hooks would normally go.
Tow with 2014 Ventana 400HP.
No other problems.

I tow a 2014 Overland with 350hp using a Roadmaster tow bar system and a RVi2 brake unit. All works great with no horsepower issues.

A good toad if it has the Quad II so that you can disconnect the drive.

I have the 2014 Overland and it weighs about 5400 lbs. I've towed it with a 330 hp and 425 hp DP. In both cases it was fine. Frankly I could not tell any difference between the two rigs as far as a HP related evaluation. With the additional weight of the 425 hp rig the driving and acceleration were the same.
