Anyone towing a 2002-2006 Honda CRV
Some publications I read before I bought a 2006 Honda crv AWD said there was no limitations on how fast you could tow that 02-06 model crv. Not getting an owners manual with the car I downloaded one from Honda which said 65 max. I have been staying under 65 most of the time but up and down mountains I have exceeded it often without realizing it. Does anyone have any experience with towing this car at higher miles per hour with or hopefully without problems..would love to hear. Thx

I have an Element which has the exact same drivetrain. I've towed it along at 70 with no problems. I have about 10,000 miles towing it so far.

I have a 2006 and I honor the 65 limit and I have exceeded it in mtn conditions. No issue to this point...these crv's are bullet proof as long as you do regular maint...GlenB

2002 here, usually don't exceed the 65, however the occasional downhill run takes me higher. only have about 2000 miles towing it so far myself

I don't think towing at higher speeds for short distances hurts anything, but if you regularly cruise at 70-75 all day with no breaks to run the CR-V engine to lubricate the trans then you are probably asking for trouble.
Our '05 Ody isn't supposed to be towed four down at all, but I probably have over 20,000 miles towing and over 100,000 miles on the odometer with no troubles other than forgetting to take off the parking brake! New pads, rotors and parking brake shoes in the rig now waiting for time to replace them all!!

I have towed my 06 CRV 50,000 plus miles and so far no problems. I have occasionally exceded 65 but rarely as the speed limit while towing is 55 in California. I usually set the cruise to 58 - 62 no matter what state we are in as the MPG is best in that range.

I'm a new Class A owner. I have a 2014 Honda CRV. Not four wheel drive. What is required to tow it on a dolly? Do I have to start engine to lube the CRV as I read in previous post?

I wonder why you would want to mess with a tow dolly when the '14 CRV can be dinghy towed. I would guess the two wheel down towing would be the same as four down. Just follow the procedures in the owner's manual, which include running the engine while shifting from R to 1 to 2 then 30 seconds in D and 3 minutes in N.

No, if it is 2WD and you are towing it on a dolly then the transmission is not turning. You would not have to do anything. Just drag it along behind you. Make sure to tighten the tow straps though.
