Gk Geiger

Sorry for the jargon LP= License Plate - did not see one in the photo.

Sounds like you have a lot of savvy in this area and have covered the bases. You have a great rig based on what I saw in the pictures.

I also apologize for being so pedantic. While I have been RVing and towing for a very long time, I am also, mindfull of my aeronautical engineering training and experiences that dealt with much greater speeds wherein the veloscity delta (change in speed or direction) can create severe G forces, so I think of these things when Iook at moving objects.

You are absoutly correct re the 10K Straps. These are likely sufficient since it is unlikely you will exceed 3g unless an extremely rapid decelleration or violent rapid side to side movement occured. If one was travelling at 70mph and decellerated to 0 mph in say 4 seconds a severe strain on any component of the moving mass would be experienced. This likely would be a crash situation and the entire trailer might flail around a lot and become disconnected before any load was scattered about. If you were the RV driver under this circumstance you would not likley have to worry about anything after such an occurance.

For example if the car weighed 5000lbs and a 3g force was applied, this would put 15,000 lbs of force on the securing mechanism but you are securing with 2 straps thus doubling the capability to 20,000lbs. Your hitch might break under this strain because the total weight times the g force would be much greater but your car would likley stay attached to the trailer.

So good luck with your new setup, it looks great and should tow fine.

To the first question, I bought my trailer here:
WENDELL H. STONE CO. INC. 1HARRISON STREET GLASSPORT, PA. 15045PHONE: 412-678-0100 FAX: 412-678-5847
Contact Joe Felice. As far as the rest of your question I'm not sure I understand. If you are saying you need to put a Gold Wing on I don't think this trailer is wide enough. It's listed as 82" but actually measures 81". As far as a ramp goes I bought TRi-fold aluminum ramp from Harbor Freight and modified it to work.
