Anyone using Demco tow-bars & base plates????

Can't find any info from people using the 10,000lb Demco tow-bar & base plates. All I see is Roadmaster & Blue Ox.
I'm getting concerned about all the negative with failures on the Blue Ox.
So looking at Roadmaster or Demco.

I am using a Demco Commander tow bar (6000 lbs) and have used Demco baseplates on previous toads. They are some of the best built, quality units on the market. Having worked in the automotive industry I am familiar with welds and fit and Demco has high quality welds and very good fit. I've also never heard of a failure on a Demco unit.

I've been using the Demco branded tow bars and base plates for over 10 years. Top quality, never a problem. Updated to the Excalibar II 10,000 lb one three years ago and it has been just as trouble free as my first one.

I'm using a Demco base plate and have been very pleased with both installation and quality. I am using a Blue Ox tow bar with it, so can't comment on the tow bar.

I've used all three and the Demco is the best.

We have a Demco baseplate on the '04 Jeep. No issues at all. (We use a Readybrute elite towing system. That's fantastic too).

We have the Demco Excalibar (8000 lbs) that we inherited from the guy we purchased our coach from. He purchase it new in 2002. He towed a Honda Civic, and a Honda Fit and had it regularly serviced. We towed both a Honda Element, and now a GMC Canyon. We've sent it back to Demco once to be gone through.

Demco's have lifetime FREE service for basic condition, seals, inspection etc. Unlike others that charge $95.00 for service as well as shipping back to you.

Ours is now 14 years old, has been used to tow for the best part of 129,000 miles, and is showing signs of use like scratched paint, small dings and bangs, need to replace the safety cables because the vinyl protective wrap is coming apart, etc, but it is fully functional, and a breeze to use.

I've installed three Demco baseplates. Two on Honda Elements, and one on the GMC Canyon. All installations were straightforward, taking less than one hour to install the baseplate. The baseplates are reasonably priced at around $220 each if i remember correctly, and require no special adapters to hook onto the tow bar. They also aren't sticking way out in front of the bumper like some I've seen.

If and when I replace this one, I will be looking at the Excali-bar II by Demco or possibly a Roadmaster. No offense to other tow bar owners, but Google "tow bar failures" and you will see why I won't be looking to buy a Blue Ox.

Good luck in your decision!

A number of Gents on another RV Forum (brand name) also had favorable comments on Demco which is the brand I'll likely get.
