The "problem" is the 2 wheel drive. You may still be able to modify it, refer to the Remco site mentioned earlier.

Most Jeeps will come with a two speed transfer case and 4 wheel drive. These are very easy to set up and tow. You, no doubt, have seen many obediently following motor homes of all descriptions down the road.

Can't say I get the point of a 2 wheel drive Jeep. Not for you specifically, but why does Jeep even offer it? I'd think it would just add complexity and expense to the manufacturing process, and I can't imagine that they sell too many.

Jeep offered the Liberty with 2 wheel drive. It cannot be towed 4 down without damaging the transmission. With 4 wheel drive we tow with the trans in park and the transfer case in neutral. The only thing to do is a drive shaft disconnect.
