2008 Sahara I think was available with two wheel drive only and not four wheel drive, hence no transfef case. If as such, not flat towable.

Over the years there have been several 2 wheel drive versions of the Jeep that were not towable. They were mainly sold on both coasts as they were popular on the beaches. As mentioned it doesn't have 4 wheel drive and a transfer case it's probably not towable without removing the drive shaft.

Although I own a 2006 Wrangler that is towable--I am not that familiar with the rest of the Jeep line. However, in addition to the issue of 2-wheel drive vs 4-wheel drive, there is also the issue of having a transfer case with a true neutral shift position. Seems that recently, Jeep came out with several 4-wheel drive models with only 2 and 4-wheel drive positions--no neutral. Sure some one with more Jeep knowledge will chime in.

2008 Sahara

Blkcloud , I just purchased a 2008 Sahara. Mine is a 4 door 4 x 4 and they are most definetly tow able. A 2WD is a different story as you have no T-case to put in neutral which disengages drive shafts. If the Sahara you have your eye on is 4x4 [ like most of them ] your all good.
I installed the Blue Ox baseplate and Blue Ox bulb wiring kit, works great. Jeeps are "tow friendly". Mine is a 6 speed standard. For an auto tranny make sure you check procedure in owners manual. I'm sure there are lots of good people on this forum that can help you with any questions.
Cheers and happy trails.
