I have read numerous threads scattered about on the subject! My owners manaul says "If your vehicle has automatic freewheeling hubs, do not tow it with 4 wheels down". Mine has automatic freewheeling hubs

so it looks like to me that I need to get a set of WARN Manual hubs so I can "unlock" them prior to towing 4 wheels down...to be on the safe side! I have read numerous posts form folks saying they have towed trackers with automatic hubs with no problems...it's hard for me to go against the owners manual...I love that little Tracker!

Get he hubs and go. They are not that expensive and will not hurt a thing either way.

I bought a set of OEM's for $50. Better safe than....

Jim: I had a new 93 Suzuki Sidekick (Tracker) - had the dealer install manual hubs at purchase. (OEM) Excellent TOAD. Left in Free wheel all the time except once off road in sand and in the snow on a visit to Michigan. Sure a lot less hassle than a dolly, and I don't think it was an expensive change.

Thanks! Thats what I am gonna do...I see WARNS for around $150.00... I will get the shop that is doing my base plates to do it...might could do it myself...depending on how easy the old ones come off...I looked a while to find the Tracker...seems like decent ones are hard to find!

I had a 90 Tracker softtop 4x4 and it was the best toad I ever had. Weighed about 2000 lbs. My 1990 had manual hubs by Warn.

I even used it once (in 4lo) to tow my dead diesel pusher out of a tight spot at Disney Fort Wilderness so a big diesel wrecker could haul it to the shop. I tow a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited now and it is far heavier and longer.
