Avail 7420 issue

Hey Everyone
I just bought a blue ox avail. I was trying to hook it up. According to the instructions you have to get the locking pin all the way down before the ring will lock.
I can't get the pin down. It is getting hung up on the triple lug. It seems the head of the locking pin is too wide to fit past.
Anyone else have this problem? Any ideas? I might be able to grind it back but it might make the metal too thin on the pin head.
Thanks
Pete

You have to turn the locking ping with the slanted side out or it won't go all the way in. Also, I have to install mine upside down (from the bottom) to have clearance on the base plate. Just my findings, others may vary.

I found this in the Blue Ox owner's manual that may better explain what I was trying to say earlier.
