Bargman 7 pin connector 2017 E450 Thor Question

Does anybody know if this connector is hardwired to the harness coming from the motorhome or is there a connector that I cannot figure out? I'm trying to replace this with a Hopkins 7 blade and 4 pin combo that has a connector that is supposed to attach to ford vehicles.

Here are the pictures of what I currently have. Just trying to see if this should snap off, or if that rubber is just a cover for the wires going into the connector.

Oh, the reason I'm doing this is that I have a tow dolly with electric brakes and want to add a pair of magnetic lights to the back of my car being towed.

Thanks,
dave

Thanks. I haven't been able to find an adapter that goes 7 blade to 7 blade AND 4 pin. If you know of one please let me know.

Thanks

Dave-

If you intended to post a picture, it didn't show up.

I gather you want a second connector at the coach hitch, to power the magnetic lights. If you don't want to permanently replace the 7-pin connector with a 7- and 4-pin connector (link here), then you can use this adapter and change out the umbilical from a 7-pin to a 6-pin at the coach end (link here).

A better option would be to split out the wires on the backside of the tow dolly connector. That way you have only one umbilical between coach and dolly. For neatness, you could use a terminal box (link here).

Mark,
Thanks for the links. So it seems they have every option of adapter out there except the 7 to 7 and 4. I was intending on posting pictures. I can see them, not sure why they are not showing up for you.

I like the idea of tying into the tow dolly wiring and may look at that in the future. I started tapping into the wires on the rear of the motorhome with a female 4 pin connector which I'll just zip tie to the rear bumper for now to attach my magnetic lights. Only issue I ran into so far is that 2 of the wires in the wire harness were about twice the size of the others so I need to get different connectors to tie into them.

Unfortunately I'm scrambling since I'm leaving tomorrow and have been too busy to get everything needed done.

Thanks for the help.

dave

I agree, better have the 4-wire lights connect to dolly lights, not MH.

Thanks everybody for the responses. I wound up not using the magnetic lights for this trip and just running with the lights on the Motorhome and tow dolly which I found out was legal. I will take the advice and just splice into the tow dolly when I have some time before the next trip just so I've got the option of using an extra set of lights.

Thanks again!
