Best Automatic SUV to Flat tow

My 1999 chev tracker is coming to the end of it's life.
It's ben a great toad, but I would like something a little bit larger for the next go-around

What do you all suggest as a toad?
Has to be 4 door, suv or cross-over, and an automatic.
Linda

Ford: Edge, Explorer both meet your needs and generally OK to flat-tow, a few exceptions such as the Ecoboost models
Jeep: I think almost all, but check
Honda: older CRV 2014 and earlier if memory is right. Newer have continuous variable trans and not flat-towable.

02 Acura MDX...don't know it's there except for the camera view

If you own a vehicle you like and it's towable then tow it.

Nope, they have to be four wheel drive and have a real neutral in the transfer case. Plus some now require an add on to power the power steering while being towed.
I'm kind of thinking about getting rid of the Ody and Civic and going to a Jeep. We did have a '97 GC that worked great to tow. DW (now deceased) made me sell it when we got the Civic since we didn't need three vehicles and the MH.

If you want something a bit smaller than the Equinox, but essentially the same chassis, try a 08-09 Saturn Vue or a Chevy Captiva. Either the FWD or AWD can be towed 4 down.

We towed an 06 Jeep Liberty & now a 14 CRV. Both are a piece of cake to tow. The CRV is 500 lbs lighter than the Jeep.

As been mentioned, a number of Jeeps are popular to tow, but you should drive one for a distance before you get one. We towed a 97 Grand Cherokee for a few years. It towed nice and was very comfortable to drive any distance. Later we had a new style four door Wrangler that was great to tow, but one of the most uncomfortable vehicles on the road we have owned. We bought it new in 2010 and traded it in 2011. Buy what is comfortable for you on the road, as you will spend more time in it than you will hooking, unhooking and towing it.
