What portable braking system do you use for your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4? Yes it is towable. I want to use a portable system but am concerned about how well it will work with the power drivers seat. The programmable seat moves when the ignition is turned on and off. Please only want to hear from Jeep GC owners as my computer time is limited.

I have a Brake Buddy Vantage Select on my Jeep and it works fine. You set it up after the seat has gotten into position with power off. Mine is about 5 yrs old and has been good to me. There are other systems out there. Such as the Stealth. SMI Air Force One is another great system.

I have an RVI Brake in our 2016 Grand Cherokee Limited, used last year in our 2015 Cherokee Limited. The RVI Brake does not rest against the seat, but rather uses the seat pan (slight rise in the floor board that the seat is mounted on. Also, I don't believe that your key needs to be on, the seat goes all the way back, and the RVI Brake sits on the floor. Some cars, like our Grand Cherokee do require a stop plate or bar installed in front of the seat, for the RVI Brake to press against. I install it, and leave it. RVI will send you the bar designed for your car Free. Another benefit of the RVI is The in the coach monitor. you can test and change settings while going down road.

I use a RoadMaster BrakeMaster unit. Has it's own mounting plate so it doesn't matter where the seat is. I've use the same unit in our '97 GC and now the Ody with no troubles.

We just purchased and tested this weekend the Brake Buddy Vantage. Really easy to setup and works perfectly. All you need to do is complete the steps for preparing the car for 4 down and afterwards you do not need to use the ignition. When you setup the Brake Buddy including seat adjustment, it will not impact the units ability to operate correctly. We did not do anything special using ours for the first time and it works like a charm.

I have used the RVi unit in both my 2012 GC Overland and 2014 GC Overland with great results. In my opinion it is the best portable unit on the market.
As for your seat issue it shouldn't be a problem as the RVi unit does not touch the seat. If it was an issue just turn off the "Easy Entry/Exit" option and the seat won't move automatically anymore.
