Best "toad" for 6 people?

I am looking to buy a vehicle I can tow 4 wheels down behind my Class A and I don't want to spend a lot of money altering it. I thought about a Jeep Wrangler, but they only seat 4. I need to be able to seat 6: 4 adults and 2 children.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like you would need something like a Tahoe or Suburban with the 3rd seat, and 4 wheel drive with the neutral in the transfer case. Not sure if Ford offers anything like this or not. You might want to check on some of the crossovers with the 3rd seat also, but you will have to check on the towing 4 down.

Check out a 2006-10 Jeep Commander. They have third-row seating that folds down when not in use. It's not roomy in the back, but perfect for kids. If it has Quadratrac, you can tow it 4-down. I've towed mine many thousands of miles with no problems.

Our Sierra can seat six and you have the big bed in back for whatever. It does weigh about 5300 lb.

Our Explorer (FWD only) can be towed 4 down and has seating for 7, albeit the third seat is a little tight for an adult.

I drag a 99 Suburban. I like that it doesn't matter if it gets road rash. Lots of them, they are cheap, and as noted earlier the 4WD in 4WD neutral can to any distance at any speed.

Only downside is it is a bit heavy, but for the lost fuel economy you can buy a good one cheap.

Look for a old "THING" or "JEEPSTER" and fix it up nice. It'll carry your brood and get attention.

My Lincoln MKT is very luxurious and can hold 5 adults and 2 children in three row seating. The Ford Flex will also do what you want. Both are approved for towing by the manufacturer with no modifications.
