I see a lot of people with a hitch mounted racks on their towed vehicles. It's what we plan on doing, in fact I hope to purchase a hitch for our toad tomorrow, with the plan to purchase a hitch mounted bike rack later.

We currently have our mud flaps attached to the receiver on the MH. I am going to ask the guys in the shop if they can weld something together and attach it to my spare tire that is mounted above the rear bumper.

This is my solution. Got a 2 inch receiver splitter. Works great!

That does look great. appears to be a lot of room between toad and bikes. Thanks Looks like I will go with this option!

I added a hitch to my toad for the bike rack. Some add a roof rack to the toad.

I have a trailer hitch on the toad and the bikes live back there. When we are in a site for a few days we often detach the bikes and keep them at the camp site. Seems to be an easy way to keep them out of the way.

Here is where we got our split receiver. If your toad is >4000 pounds, then I think I've heard that the best deal is usually found by asking a welding shop to custom fabricate one for you. \ken

I got my splitter at Harbor Freight. I have a 2" receiver on my jeep too so I can take the bikes on outings. The set up gives us flexibility.

I always use the camp sight as a base and go see all the sights from there in the toad, with the bike rack on the toad, I just unhook the toad and take off to the location I will be hitting the trails.

The hitch splitter is cool and will work great if you don't want to put a hitch on the toad. But I like the idea of a hitch on the toad better, that way I can take the bikes wherever I want whether I have the motorhome with me or not.

Looking at that picture I see lots of clearance.
However...
Keep in mind that this is, in effect, a hitch extender with 2 receivers and can reduce both tongue and tow weight. Check out the dual receiver specifications carefully with regards to what you tow.
BTW...I'm set up similar but haven't put my rack on the coach because I am wondering how to get my Blue Ox tow bar folded and stowed. How do you handle that?
