Bike rack on dual hitch receiver behind motorhome

Our bikes couldn't go on the back of the toad because of the "light bar" mount.

Been there, done that, didn't like it.

It got to be a PITA removing it and moving it over to the coach. Having the bike carrier on the coach made it the perfect place to keep my bikes secure.

Leaving the bike carrier on the toad made it so you couldn't go through most car washes and Sandee didn't like driving because it blocked part of the rear view camera view. It also requires us to unfold it to access the rear hatch and when we carried 2 big German Shepherd Dogs (1 now), it wasn't convenient either. Besides, it was reasonably heavy.

That being said, sometimes ya just gotta pick your poison. No wrong answer.

I had the same problem. The dolly surge brake would not fit under the bike rack. Dan's Hitch in Elkhart Indiana welded up a new ball carrier using a couple of hitches including my old Curt to give me the clearance I need. I can send picture to anyone that would like to see it.

I use the Gen- Y receiver as well. Hook the tow bar in the bottom and alternately the bike rack or a grill in the top. The GenY is solid steel and cast, it is very strong. With five receiver slots it has about 12 inches from the first to the fifth hole.
