Does anyone have a definite preference between Blue Ox Aladdin v. Aventa for towing CR-V AWD? Aladdin is $50 more and aluminum but Aventa has ball in socket pivot joint. Choices, choices .....
Advice / comments appreciated!!!
Thanks.

I had the Aladdin for 5 years and 25,000 miles. I had it serviced last month and it was worn out. I replaced it with the Aventa LX on the advice of the Blue Ox Service Tech who said the Aventa will last twice as long as the Aladdin.

I had the other Aventia (not the ball and socket one) good solid steel construction, I pulled 4,000 pounds of chevy lumina and the ONLY problem I had with it.. Was not with it at all but another part of the towing system (Very long story but when I sent the damaged bar back to Blue Ox, they Fed-Exed me a new one free, And after inspecting the old one determined it was not their fault so they would not pay for damage to the car... Amazing.. I told them up front that exactly what happned and it is 100% certain (At least in my mind) there was no defect in their product, And it was NOT at afult in the incident.... It worked flawlessely.. The receiver pin, however, not so well.
The new pin uses a padlock.. Ah, work time.

We chose the steel Aventa. It stays on the MH so the weight was not a problem and the towing capacity was better. CRV toad with Air Force One.

Do not get the Aladdin. I had mine inspected in Quartzsite two weeks ago and they found a problem with the end being loose. I had to replace the whole thing as they don't have any replacement parts for the Aladdin.
Not very happy with Blue Ox support. I never expected to have to buy another complete unit.
I tow a 4000 pound Jeep and the Aladdin was rated for 5000 pounds.
The clear message is: Don't buy an Aladdin!
