Blue Ox Apollo

Hi all,

I have a Blue Ox Apollo that has been working fine until a few days ago. The unit is around four or five years old. I'm assuming the warranty is over.

We went to leave one day and the unit wouldn't pressurize, it got to 10LBs and stayed there. When we turning it off, we could here air leaking out inside the Blue Ox. It remains that way today. We're on the east coast of Canada (Nova Scotia) and no-one here seems to know anyone or RV place that would even look at it. It's too far and too costly to try and send it back to Blue Ox, we're weeks and many miles from some place like Camping World.

I can't yet find a place where they might even sell a new unit...any suggestions?

If you can hear air leaking , sounds like the compressor is operational, if it's out of warranty , no harm taking it apart and seeing if the leak can be repaired.

Hi, they don't make Apollo units any longer, but they still may service it for a price if you send it back to the factory. I had a problem with mine few years ago, called BO customer support and got it fixed for cost of shipping it one way. Check at BlueOx.com.

As we're travelling, shipping wasn't an option. As the unit is a least 5 years old, I decided to open it up and see where it was leaking. There is a black valve unit attached to the back of the circuit board with 3 plastic hoses plugged in to it.

It was leaking at one of the fittings, which you cannot take apart. If you held in position it would stop leaking. There appeared to be nothing we could do to stop it leaking short of getting the silicone out.

I gave it a gentle push into the black "box" and it went in a few mm's. Leak stopped. I put it back together and it is working so far for the last two trips we have made.

At least I know how to take it apart...
