Blue Ox Aventa II

The center large bolt in my blue ox is loose and it is the one inside the U swivel Has anyone figured out how to tighten it? It seems that it is bottomed out and not tight Washers?

Try giving Blue Ox a call. They are very helpful. I would not recommend modifying the tow bar until you have talked to them. Something might be worn and need replacing.

Mine came loose as well. I replaced the nut and had marginal success. On a trip west last year I stopped at the Blue Ox factory. For $25 they replaced the plastic thingamajiggy that the bolt goes through along with a new nut and mine is perfect now. A buddy had his do the same, so I'm beginning to think its a problem on all of them.

If you go online to Blue Ox, they have a video explaining step by step how to rebuild the tow bar. They will do it at any show you find them for $25, or I bought their kit and did it myself.

I called tech support after they opened this am, they told me I was right just use a large air impact and the bolt will tighten the lock tite back up. They said after I make it home box up just the very old brake stop and send it in and they will rebuild it again for me

If you go to an FMCA rally Blue Ox will rebuild the tow bar with all new bolts, nuts, washers, etc. for $25 - great deal! You can go to a local Blue Ox dealer and get the same job done for whatever their hourly rates are - in our area it's $135 per hour!
