What were you towing at that time? The Aventa LX is a 10,000lb hitch. Also how old was it. Blue Ox is good about standing behind their products. I hope you get is resolved quickly. Sorry for the collision.
Happy Trails!!

Just replaced 12 year old Blue Ox with new Aventa. First time out, slug in toad bent. Pin had to be driven out with hammer. Not impressed.

Wow. I have the same towbar. Is the picture showing the broken part upward? If it is, it looks like it could have been cracked for a while.

Wow! Glad you're ok.
Please post the response from Blue Ox.
Just curious what auxiliary brake system you're running with the jeep?

Ok been trying to stay positive and not say anything bad, was told I would have a new bar for a trip this past Friday, still no tow bar, had to cancel trip. still no phone call from blue ox, just emails, the people that sold me the bar at Richmond wont return emails either. so kinda pissed off to say the least. 2200.00 damage and 750.00 for the tow bar. Monday I will be on the phone again.

Sorry for your misfortune. I have the Blue Ox Aventa that broke . The yoke is what failed. To be fair mine was 5 yrs old when it broke. I had towed my HHR a total of 22,000 miles when it failed! The only help I received was directions to a Blue Ox distributor. I was in Tx at the time. I asked to pay and have the parts shipped , but no deal had to go some thirty miles to order what I needed. Hope you have better service. The only maintenance I did was keep the shafts under the boots clean and siliconed. The rest of it was factory. With yours only being a year old I would hope you will have a better result! Good Luck!

My Blue Ox Aventa LX ball is silver, not black. Is your tow bar for a 2 1/2 inch receiver?

eTrailer Blue Ox Aventa LX for 2 1/2 inch receiver.

eTrailer Blue Ox Aventa LX for 2 inch receiver.

I haven't had any problems with mine but the very next time I have it out for use I am going to inspect it closely for cracks or possible areas where it has been stressed.

Thanks for the heads up.

Mine is not painted black either. The pic on link shows both. I wonder why some are painted and some are not? I checked mine, no cracks, and I have towed a few thousand with it.

Well, if you go by the photos of each model, the silver one like yours and mine fits a 2 inch receiver and is the more expensive of the two. The black one fits a 2 1/2 inch receiver and is the cheaper one based on the prices on the eTrailer web site.

Hence the reason for my question to the OP as to which model he purchased and what size receiver he owns.

Its the 2 inch model. Well I called them today to see what was going on, have another trip this week, low and behold im told she no longer works for the company, wth, no wonder I never got any help or response. Talked to someone who advised they were over nighting me a bar and it will be here by Wednesday for my trip Thursday. Hope he is correct. As for the damages still waiting for claims to get back to me.

Had a different model Blue Ox that broke. I sent it back so they could investigate. Blue Ox provided aventa tow bar, and paid for all the damage to the motorhome.
Good company took a little time but was settled to my satisfaction.
