As part of a used M/H deal, I received a used Blue Ox Aventa2 tow bar.
When the legs are fully extended ( locked ) there is a lot of radial movement ( slack ) possible. I believe that this is caused by wear on the plastic spacer ( bushing ) through which the inside leg slides. This should be an easy replacement once the inner leg is pulled out of the outer leg.
Not sure how to remove the clevis ( at toad end ) from the inner leg.
It appears on the drawing that the clevis is threaded on to the inner leg and secured with a roll pin.
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has disassembled one of these legs - the drawing is not very clear.

Don't know how quickly you need it, but the Blue ox factory will service it, which includes minor repairs for $25. If it's used and not knowing how many miles are on the unit, it would be best to send it to them for inspection.

FYI and others who are interested, I have been in touch with Blue Ox customer support and the charge is $95 plus parts and owner pays shipping.
I believe the $25 is for a tune up done at rallies by Blue Ox reps.
Since I am in Canada, the cost of shipping would make this deal a lot less of a bargain !
I am a DYI kind of guy , so a factory repair would be my last resort.

Did you ask Blue OX for a repair manual?

I just recently purchased that tow bar and I'm interested for future fixes. My previous bar was a Demco and it had all the repair instructions with the user manaul.

If you are going to travel in the us make a stop at pender NB and they will fix it at the factory mine was free they just swapped it out for a new one no charge...

I stopped overnight at their facility and the charge was $25, which included more than just a tune up. Sounds as if the OP has quite a bit more going on with his.

I didn't ask Blue Ox directly for a repair manual, but as far as I can tell, they do not have one for owners. I will make a point of asking and report back.

The manual shows a different assembly at the triple-lug ( back ) end of the inner leg. Apparently there was a change in this area during the period when Aventa ll's were manufactured. My unit has a three-piece assembly consisting of the clevis, a washer and a nut with a collar for attachment of the bellows. The clevis has a setscrew and is secured with red Loctite, which means that it must be heated to remove.
All of this info is from Blue Ox Customer Care, who have been very helpful and patient with all my questions.
Seems like a bit much for the average DIY guy.
May have to give in and give the 'pros' a chance.

John, I guess you are on your own. If you have communicated with Blue Ox and they cannot provide a manual, then your approach on here is a good one and maybe some one will have one in their magazine pile.
