Blue ox brake

What does the error code "A01" indicate on a blue ox patriot tow brake?

Flashing “0” or “A” Control Unit in RADIO SEARCH state (looking for
Remote Unit radio transmission to store MAC address).
Flashing “1” Control Unit in INITIALIZING state (retract actuator).

This is from the installation instructions.

Did you find out how to fix your Blue Ox brake?
Mine no longer works showing a solid (not flashing) A01 error. Arm either does not move or extends fully against brake pedal so hard I thought it would break
Know how to contact blue ox?
Cheers!

As Vapor3000 indicated, you should call BlueOx.
Mine started the same same symptoms after about four years. Turns out the problem was with the internal battery and had to be returned to the factory.
We were on the road to Alaska at the time so they agreed to send a new unit to our next destination prepaid along with a prepaid return slip. On receipt of my old one, they gave me a healthy credit to my card.
The new one is a Much Better rig. The claw is much improved. Easier to get on and off. And the setup is quicker and less troublesome.

We have the Blue Ox Patriot braking system and the Blue Ox tow bar. While traveling I-95 north of Jacksonville I get a panic call from friends following us in their MH. "pull over quick, fire". Pulled over, jumped out with fire extinguisher in hand. Both front wheel wells were on fire. Driver's side wheel temp. reached over 500 degrees and the tire exploded.

Replaced entire brake system on 2011 5-speed Honda and suspension, axles, wheels and tires. $6500 total repair cost luckily covered by insurance. Also lucky we had friends behind us because I travel with the camera pointed at the toad but didn't see anything. We do have TPMS on the coach but not the toad. We now have monitors on the toad wheels also to monitor temps. Found the actuator error codes A01 and A02 that meant the actuator circuit board had failed. Sent unit in for repair, 2 months beyond the 2 year warranty but was repaired at no charge.

Apparently when the Blue Ox failed it failed in a partial brake down position. I don't know why if a failure happens it doesn't fail in a brake off position.

Bottom line, get temperature monitoring for your toad before you burn up your toad and coach.

Thanks everyone.
Got ahold of the Blue Ox people, indeed it was an internal problem. Sent it back to factory and should have it back in a couple of days now. The company rep was very helpful, even sent me a Fedex label so it did not cost me anything to send it. Total turn around time about 3 weeks. I live in Canada so it took a little time to make the trip.

Cheers
