I have used the Patriot for the past 6 years on two different vehicles. A 2010 Ford Taurus and now a 2013 Honda CRV.
I used to have some difficulties setting up on the Taurus because of the soft seats. Used a piece of plywood between the seat and Patriot to act as a stiffener. The CRV has a plastic rib around the front of the seat so no issues there.
The first unit I had crapped out on me in the midst of our trip to Alaska. BlueOx offered to repair it if I sent it back to them. Since this was not an option at the time, they agreed to send me a new unit to my next destination and I paid about 1/3 of new price. Per the deal, I returned the failed one back to BlueOx.
The new version is Much Better than the original in a few ways. Better claw, and software updates make set up better and easier.
I have no problems with it. It performs exactly as advertised as a proportional braking system. To confirm this, I had a person ride in the car as we drove around in town while he watched the action of the device.

I own one and it works great...the claw broke off last Summer and BlueOx replaced it free of charge. No complaints with that kind of service.

I needed a new battery they said send in and they would put in a new battery and a new board and to send in the controller and they would calibrate it all for $110. When I got back everything looked new even the packaging with a new break away switch and cord. I think it's a whole new system, go figure?
