Blue ox BX7365 Alpha or BX7445 Aventa?

The BX7365 Alpha is rated at 6500 lbs
The BX7445 Aventa is rated at 10,000 lbs.
Both are the same price on Amazon.
What is the difference between the two?

Go for the Aventa, no matter what you are towing, you
will have a huge margin of error for any high stress
situation, or no matter what you are pulling.

Bigger Better, I went from a Roadmaster 6000lb (10 years old) to a 10,000lb Roadmaster tow bar what a difference.

I think you answered your own question 6500 lb vs 10,000 lb

Beside the weight rating, the primary difference is in the type of swivel fitting that is used.

The 7365 uses the same type as most tow bars with the square bar with bolts at each end allowing motion in two directions. This works just fine.

The 7445 Aventa uses a "ball within a ball" swivel that allows motion in all directions. I think Blue Ox claims easier hook ups.

I've used both types, and do not think there is much difference in actual functionality.

I've had my Aventa for 6 years and other then servicing it. It has performed flawlessly. The higher towing capacity is also a nice thing to have.

Good luck.

One other consideration considering how many times you will take it off and put it on and your general health the bigger one weights 52.4 lbs which is about 11 pounds heavier than the other one.

I am in my seventies and weight is important to me

I was just looking on Amazon and don't see them at the same price unless your considering a refurbed Aventa vs a new Alpha?

Aventa $706
Alpha$548

Someone else mentioned an 11# weight difference but looks like 1# difference according to Blue Ox. I'm getting ready to purchase as well and will likely go with the Alpha for a <4800# Jeep Grand Cherokee. 35% under rating works for me. You know these guys likely have a buffer built in there as well.

They (Aventa's) were on sale on Amazon for $571 but that sale ended at midnight on Presidents Day, of course I waited 1 day too long before ordering so mine didn't come from Amazon. I did order one from HitchSource for $599..

PapaGlen you must have found another sale as I just looked at Hitchsource and it's $749... but just found the Aventa on Amazon for $569 when I saw it yesterday for $706. Strange to see these fluctuating so much by the day!

I think hitch source is including the safety cables ($81) and don't see them mentioned on Amazon.
