Blue Ox Dealer/Dan's /Elkhart IN

Long story short. Blue Ox Hitch damaged last week while being towed for service after MH engine quit in Kansas. After successful repairs by Kansas City Freightliner we are now in Elkhart for scheduled work on MH. Hitch needs inspection and possible replacement due to damage. Toad wiring also needed inspection. Called Dan's (Blue Ox and other brands) Service Center yesterday. They said they were quite busy but that we could bring the toad in today and they would see if they could fit it into the schedule. Arrived at 10am as instructed. By 1:30 the front desk still had no idea if there would be any time to see us. We had to leave by 2:30 in order to get MH back from service at 3pm. This was made clear when we walked into Dan's. Front desk comment at 1:30 "Well maybe we can see you by 2:30 and maybe we can't. What you do is up to you." We walked out and they lost a potential full hitch replacement. We will be driving the toad separately from the MH to the next Blue Ox dealer we can find.

Not sure what you expected. They were already busy and you didn't have an appointment. They never promised they would be able to see you by a certain time.

What we expected was politeness. We did not expect the rudeness and smart aleck comments which we did NOT share with you. A good shop manager should know at 1:30 whether there is a chance his shop can fit you in by 2:30. The bottom line was that their treatment of a customer lost them business.

That's a little different. Yeah, politeness counts.
