Blue Ox Patriot

I found a great deal on a 1 year old Patriot brake, trying to find out more info on this unit. This one is electric, where a Brake Buddy is air driven. What does everyone like, any favorites out there. I'm pulling a Jeep unlimited behind a 30' Thor. Thanks!

Many reviews on Amazon, where the Patriot is also sold.

I use a Patriot brake. Works great and to set up/use. I paid $400 for it used (used 2 times!!).

Can't go wrong with Blue Ox equipment.

I just picked up mine for $500.00, only used once or twice. The guy I got it from bought a new RV and toad, and after two trips, saw too scared to drive the RV any longer. I think he had some vision problems + age, it was too much for him. Sweet deal for me.

Will that unit charge if it's plugged into a live 12v outlet without being turned on? Talking about the internal battery. thx

I'm not sure about that. A good thing about Blue Ox is that you can call their customer service and ask questions like that. Makes no difference to them where or when you bought the equipment.

We are also satisfied Patriot users. Have just one unit, but used on two toads.

To answer the charging question, YES, it will charge without being "on." You will want it to be fully charged before you head out on the road.
