I have it. It's super easy to install, meaning taking it in and taking it out. I can't say i am disappointed with it, but i dont love it. I've had a few issues with it. First it keeps losing communication between the unit and the remote. I look over often times when i am braking and its not applying any braking which i would think it should. Like I said, it's ok but i dont love it.

I have the brake unit and no problems over the last two years. You do have to install and remove every time you want to use the toad. It is not that difficult to setup just locate, set the seat distance and turn it on. It goes through the setup and off you go. I haven't had any issues with loss of communication and I have a 40' motorhome.

We looked at Brake Buddy, Blue Ox and Ready Brake Elite. Went with Ready Brake Elite because we didn't want to take the unit in/lout each time we used the toad.

See I look at it a little differently. I like having the ability to pull it out because then I have the ability to move it into a different, or sell it out right if I wanted too without having to rip it all out of a vehicle.

We used the "set on the floor in front of the seat" system for about three years. My only complaint was the need to set it up each time for use and needing to find someplace to store it when it was not. We eventually opted for a system that was a simple "plug and play", in our case the SMI Air Force One. There are electrically operated systems that would be just as easy to set up after initial installation.

The Ready Brute Elite is not "installed" on the car except for the wire to pull the brake pedal. The braking is in the tow bar. Always sellable.

I don't know anything about the SMI system.

Used Blue Ox Patriot brake on Jeep with gas rig and same unit is now on diesel pusher in a Silverado. No issues with it or Blue Ox Aventa tow bar.

Blue Ox Patriot

My experience is similar to mandersons2228, the unit is okay but I don't love it. The positive is I have used the same unit in 4 different toads. I was told by Blue Ox that the loss of communication between the unit and the dash control can occur as a result of signal interference from other motorists radar detectors.

I too have the Blue Ox Patriot system. It has worked very well! The only "inconvenience" is to remove it or put it in. No big deal for us as it takes just a minute or two and we're off. I use it in a Honda CR-V and I store it in the back of the toad with a strap when not in use.
