Bouncing Betty (Jeep)

Got a 2000 Jeep. Love it! Can use it on my dolly. It's got a problem though. Rides and handles pretty well. Except when You need to use the brakes. Then the left front wheel seems to bounce pretty badly. I just replaced the shocks last night and that greatly reduced the problem. But, it's still there to a lesser extent. Anyone have another idea to stop this problem?

thanks, Ed

I had a similar problem with our Kia. I put new pads and rotors on and it developed a vibration when applying the brakes. I found out I had bad wheel bearings on both sides. Replaced both wheel bearings, problem solved. Could also be a bad rotor too.

If that jeep is 4wd, towing on a dolly will take out the tranfer case pretty quickly. They need to be towed 4 down.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Replaced the rotors and new pads already. It's probably going to be bearings. I just hoped someone had other ideas, too.

thanks for the tip about towing four-down.

Check the ABS sensor if the Jeep has them. They can become mud covered and not function correctly.
