Bounder 35k towing capacity

How much can I tow behind a Bounder 35k. It has a 5,000lb hitch, but I have a jeep on a trailer that weighs about 7,000. Possible to pull or no way? Anyone done this or something similar? Thanks

Welcome to irv2. I would not go above the rated 5000 lbs. for a number of reasons.

The difference between the GVWR & GCWR is what it can pull.
Should be a sticker inside it with that info. Or download a PDF for the model Year.
With a 5K hitch means it will only take 500 lb's of tong weight.
Your set up could be around 700 lb +

You need to look for a MH that has over 7K Between the GVWR & GCWR

Please, no way. You will be 2000lbs over the hitch rating max. That's too much. Even if the jeep/trailer/mh are under GCWR, your towing capacity is limited by the hitch rating.

Do the numbers...

Tow rating is the lower of:

1. Coach's hitch rating.
2. Coach tow rating.
3. Chassis tow rating (sometimes different than the coach's).
4. The difference in weight between the coach's GCWR and the coach's actual weight when ready to tow.

I once witnessed a gas MH towing an older Ford Explorer 4-down, which is close to 5K max hitch rating. Long story short, hitch failed from metal fatigue, Ford left road and catapulted into a swamp when hitch pulled away from MH frame. Luckily no-one was injured or involved other than the Ford. (we were traveling in Yukon territory no oncoming traffic)
My moral is, the long distance between hitch and rear axle places more stress on the hitch, which requires more frequent detailed inspections than annually, which is the normal frequency.
