Bounder: Receiver Drop for Toad

I am getting ready to set up my 2013 Bounder to tow a 2013 CRV using Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar. Compared to other MH's, the receiver sits up pretty high. Should the tow bar be level to the ground when connected to the receiver? If so, what size receiver drop would I need to order (in inches)?

Thanks!
TJ

Blue Ox recommends no more than a 4" variance. I use a 10" drop down receiver ( or is it 8" , I forget ) to tow perfectly level. You'll have to measure yours to find out how many inches you'll need and how level you want to be.

There is a "sticky" at the top of this forum called "Tow Bar Angle and Height Difference." Blue Ox recommends the difference in height should not be more than 4".

With the motorhome parked on a level, paved surface, measure the height from the ground to the center line of the receiver. If you look up the baseplate for your specific vehicle on the Blue Ox website, they should give the height of the tabs that the tow bar attaches to. Drop receivers are usually available in 2" increments. Order the one that gets you closest to level. I use a 4" drop, which makes the motorhome about 1-2" higher than the toad.
