Hello all, we read thru the threads but didn't see the exact problem we are having. We just had a tow bar and Brake Buddy added to our Motorhome and car. We did test the alert system while we were at the dealer but it didn't work; we were told we will need to change the sensitivity. We changed the sensitivity two times on the way back home, and the alert system hasn't worked yet. We are going to make sure the Brake Buddy is working by riding in the car, but we definitely want the alert system to work properly. Has anyone else had this problem and if so could you share your solution. We have called the dealer back and they are checking on their end, but I don't think they get in any hurry.

If I remember correctly you have to sync the remote with the BB. It is shown in the manual.

Thank you Ottwa, we checked the manual that we have and our Brake Buddy is the Classic. There wasn't any sync directions for the Classic. We did look online and saw sync directions for the Vantage. So...we are back to the drawing board!

I suggest you call Hopkins direct if you can't get it to work. They have a good service department. Our Allegro is only 30ft long and had no problem receiving the wireless signal. I did have to put the sending unit up in the window just below the rearview mirror and the reciever high on the dash. I also have a rear window which may have helped with line of sight. Try moving all the components closer together,ie: a second car nearby, and useing the test button see if it is a distance problem. Hopkins will need to know that when they make good.
Hope this helps.

Thank you Rocky, we will definitely try moving the sending unit and the receiver to do a test. We are going back to the dealer tomorrow because the connection for the lights etc on the tow bar was wired incorrectly and they need to fix it. We are hoping that they will also have a solution for us on the alert unit. We worked all afternoon on the wiring problem on and off the phone with the dealer but were never able to get the lights to work correctly.

Update....we took the motorhome and toad back to the dealer today. The light connection from the motorhome to the toad was not wired correctly so the dealer corrected that and the lights work correctly now. There was no fix for the alert module because the overhead fans are causing interference. We have ordered another type of brakebuddy that has the alert light hard wired to the motorhome.
