I can buy used for $250 and new for $799. Do these things wear out very quick? Is there a less costly way to go. I am towing a 4000 lb Jeep Grand Cherokee. Thanks for your opinions.

I have had one for six years. Last year it broke and the repair was $ 125 including shipping. I would go with the used one as long as it works properly now.

If you have air brakes on your coach the M&G brake system is the way to go. No electronics and it's foolproof, a necessity where I'm concerned. Mine has worked flawlessly since I installed it myself and takes me all of 5 seconds to hook up.

I'd buy the used one, if I was confident all the parts were there and in working condition when I got it. As has been said, you can get Brake Buddy to rebuild it for around $125. And they usually offer a good credit on the old one if you want to upgrade too. I don't see how you can go wrong at $250.
