So I guess this may be paranoia but I was wondering if any of you Brake Buddy users carry an extra pin for the break away sensor unit. (You know the thingy that pulls out to signal a break away.) I got to thinking that sometime when we are using the toad, if some curious goober takes the pin, I'm out of luck for break away safety.

Hi, Head down to the nearest Rv parts place and grab a complete Bargman switch, these are common in the trailer side of towing. Probably they are at most Napa or Pep Boy stores

No extra pin, but I do keep it removed from the Mini Cooper, (my toad), unless actually towing. Once I scraped the ground going into a parking lot while driving the Mini Cooper on it's own and as I was walking into the store past where it had scrapped bottom, just by chance, I saw my pin sitting there on the ground.
I think an extra pin might be appropriate.

I don't have a brake buddy, but I do carry several extra breakaway pins.

I have the USGEAR braking system. They use a plastic plunger for the breakaway actuating. I got mine directly from USGEAR. I have seen them in various dealer parts stores. This type of plastic plunger might be a commonly used part. The part number is DP-6000, for USGEAR. Their phone number is 800-874-3271. This part is not pictured in any of their parts drawings, via the Internet.

I have an SMI DUO Brake at the moment and the e-Plunger was the same as was used with the Brake Buddy. I believe that this component is a standard item.
