Cool Brake Buddy Remote

Hello, I bought a used brake buddy vantage select without a remote. Brake buddy wants 250.00 for one. Is there any other place to buy one and can i use one from another vantage unit? Prev owner sold his rv with the remote in it and its long gone...Paul ps Brake buddy says i can use it without the remote but i would rather have the remote to tell me when the brakes are on etc.

250 dollars? I bought an entire new unit with remote for 500 bucks. Keep an eye on ebay and craigslist. To be honest, they are one of those things nice to have, but not a a must have. If it's not working you are going to notice it. If there is a brake away, you will also feel it.

I haven't looked at it, but I think the vantage tells you more details and allows you to adjust sensitivity. On the classic, you have to set the sensitivity at the unit, but once you know what works, you'll never touch it again. I think the remote is one of those extra luxuries to have, but not a must have. A lot of folk are running the ready brake and there isn't a remote for it. To be honest, I have the remote hooked up but never look at it. I'd just drive it like that while keeping an eye out for a good deal on a remote. Cheers, AL
