Brake Buddy Stealth, anybody using it?

I have used a regular BB for years now and have been very pleased with their customer service. I'm looking into switching to a permanent mounted toad braking system and am curious to hear about the Brake Buddy system.

Thanks,

Dave

I have the Brake Buddy Stealth and I really like it. The only problem I have had is that it is or was difficult to connect the 7 pin cable to the RV. That is not saying anything negative, it is my problem with very little strength. The Stealth works very well and the control unit is really nice and easy to set up for your particular toad. Plug and go - that is all there is to it.
It was a tad expensive for the installation but well worth it. If you can install yourself, all the better.
I first had it installed on my 2012 CRV and recently had it removed from that toad and had it installed on my 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. It works great.
I have had the Stealth for about 3 years now and have had no problems.
There is a battery maintainer that comes with it and I have had no problems with the toad battery dying.
I think you will like it. I know I do.

We have the Brake Buddy Stealth installed and am disappointed. Something is always messing up the computer in the system causing the unit to display CU and to quit working. On our last trip the unit worked at one red light, then drove 2 blocks and it failed and the unit displayed CU. Anyone else have that problem?

Additional information on my problem - BB says the cable is where the problem exists. With the lack of a flat floor requiring multiple bends in the cable from the box to the brake pedal, the system will work for a short distance to a long distance, then quits. After many many many emails to BB including a number of photos showing the various routings of the cable, BB keeps saying the cable has too many bends. I'm about to hardwire a switch in the power line in the towed vehicle to make it easier to reset the unit without raising the hood and removing the fuse for 20 seconds. The unit was initially installed my RV dealer but that employee made a number of errors which I have corrected. He no longer works there. My recommendation - DO NOT INSTALL A BRAKE BUDDY STEALTH IN A 4 DOOR JEEP WRANGLER!

Brake Buddy Stealth

Sorry to hear you are having problems with your Stealth. I have had no problems except for when I did not have the 7 pin connector in tight enough. When that happened, the alarm went off and I believe I got the CU code - not sure what the code read. I fixed the problem by using a bungee cord to keep the connector in tight and never had the problem again.
Mine is on a Jeep Latitude. I hope you get the problem solved.
